Sep 05, 2019HoopYogini™ Instructor Spotlight: Natalie Marsh
Natalie Marsh brings her love of teaching to her path as HoopYogini™ Instructor to get people moving, smiling, and learning.
How did you discover hooping?
I rediscovered Hooping through a friend that was holding classes. I used to hoop a lot as a child and I had loved it. I had tried with my daughter’s hoops but I couldn’t do it. Because of that, I thought it was something that I had lost the ability to do as an adult. How wrong I was! It is such a great physical activity and I was excited to start!
What do you love about hooping and what has it meant for you?
I love so much about hooping. It is such a fun activity to get fit and there are so many challenges every time I pick up the hoop. There is always something to learn and you can feel your body getting stronger and fitter. I love my hoops as they grant me a passage of expression and some time to myself to feel calm and relaxed.
What do you love about HoopYogini™?
HoopYogini™ has done so much for me. Not only for my hooping but my own personal growth. My back used to ache before I started this program and through my daily practice in the Spinal Awakening Series my back has become more supple and stronger. I have lost the aches I once had. I also love the movement HoopYogini offers and the chance to clear my mind that was once always busy. It is both a path to escapism and to staying here in the present.
What do you love most about teaching?
I have always loved to teach. I love meeting new people. I love to see other people’s joy as they grow and learn new things they didn’t think were possible. I love to see how different every person is and how that affects my way of teaching. Every day is a school day where I am concerned and I love the challenge that it brings.
Give us a sense of your background or approach with teaching.
My background is varied as I have led a varied work life. But in every genre of work I found myself being pulled by the love of teaching. Mixing that with my love of dance and movement hooping kinda found me and has given me the life I choose to follow in work and play. I also have a love of horses which helps me to find my center and rebalance my feelings.
Share your message, values, and aspirations as a teacher and hooper.
My message is to always be happy. Give everything a go and don’t be scared what other people may think. If it makes you happy and is not hurting anyone else then it is worthwhile.
